MEET GLORIA

LEADERSHIP
ROOTED IN
INGLEWOOD.

Gray is the past chairwoman of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Board of Directors. She was the first African-American to lead the board, from January 1, 2019 - December 31, 2022, and only the second woman to do so in the district’s 90-year history. In recognition of her commitment to community service, Gray received an acknowledgement proclamation from Metropolitan’s Board for her work and outstanding leadership on the Delta Stewardship Council and later received the 2014 African Legacy Award as the first African-American woman to be elected to Metropolitan’s Board.

Her campaign is focused on transparent government, stronger neighborhoods, affordability, public safety, and making sure Inglewood's future works for its residents.

THE ISSUES
THAT MATTER.

Three pillars of Gloria Gray's campaign.

PILLAR 01

Transparency, Accountability & Open Government

Gray places open government at the center of her campaign and frames accountability as an obligation to the people City Hall represents.

  • Make City Hall more open to the public.
  • Strengthen transparency and accountability to residents.
  • Give residents a meaningful voice and clearer visibility into what is happening in their city.
PILLAR 02

Greater Public Participation & Accessibility

The article includes a tangible access reform and a broader promise of resident-facing leadership.

  • Move City Council meetings from the current 2 p.m. schedule to evening hours to encourage participation.
  • Expand public discussion during Council meetings and create more opportunity for residents to be heard.
  • Maintain an accessible mayor’s office where residents can meet and speak with the mayor.
PILLAR 03

Affordability, Housing & Protecting Longtime Residents

Gray’s affordability objective is expressed through three resident needs: being able to live in Inglewood, buy in Inglewood, and remain in Inglewood.

  • Keep affordability central as investment and property values rise.
  • Help ensure residents can afford to live in and buy into the community.
  • Protect the ability of people who already live in Inglewood to continue to stay.
